Short description:

The Learning Path project creates a network for small upper secondary schools and vocational education institutions in Central Finland. The network offers exchangeable courses that utilise information and communication technologies.

The project has several objectives. The first is to develop regional standard of activities to coordinate and market web-based courses and to offer studen counselling. The second is to produce the content of the web-based courses in co-operation with the teachers of the participating organisations. The third objective of the project is to create an organisation for web training to support the web-based education.

The Learninf Path Project will generate until the year 2005 a joint course and counselling Internet portal for secondary level educational establishments. The portal offers about 40 web-based courses.

The project is financed by the European Social Fund (target 1 and 3 programmes), The province of Western Finland, The Regional Council of Central Finland and the participating organizations.
