c,d) During the last years of compulsory school pupils have to take a choice between further professions and different schools and studies. Education and profession are a status symbol in todays society. The need of the professional education science for a pre-professional education with all its possibilities and especially of a vocational orientation in compulsory school beginning with the 7th level comes out of the social integration, mobility and pupils orientated lessons with excursions to the world of work as well as with individual coachings.
Starting point of the project was the work with social areas of the pre-vocational education, that means with certain lessons of the secondary level I and II, that offer vocational orientation in school. Above this there is a need of consideration of the pre-vocational measures of economy and the labour services.
- Meetings with the world of the work "Realbegegnungen"/ excursions/Information centres on vocations
-Measures of further education for teachers as well as teacher education in vocational orientation in Pedagogical academies and institutions.
A reflection on the theories about the choice of vocations and the models of coaching / advice seems to be as necessary as the critical consideration of the missing possibilities of pre-vocational education (i.e. work with parents in the education for grown ups and the education on tertiary level of teacher trainers, co-workers of the labour services and economy in the middle management (Compare "Hochschullehrgang Berufsorientierung" of the university of Klagenfurt).. |
