Under the co-ordination of Austria five schools from Germany, Latvia and the Netherlands work on the interfaces for the vocational preparation of disadvantaged young people
Hereunder it is important to collect data of the individual partner schools, to reflect exchange of experience and innovative ideas and to emphasize the things in common. In that way a breeding ground for new methodical-didactical work and work as regards contents with an European dimension is to be prepared.
Task of the common project is it to collect, compare and evaluate within the three actions methods, models and innovative approaches of the individual partner schools at the interfaces between school and the world of work for disadvantaged young people.
Co-peration models:
The objective thereby is to adapt in each case at least one model of a partner school and to use it. The results are constantly reflected and evaluated. Further goals are contacts of the pupils among themselves and the integration and evaluation of the preceding projects.
Structure
Action 1 "Status quo" (Status quo analysis, Exchange of Experiences and basics)
Action 2 "Operative" (Transformation of minimum 1 partner project, accompanying Evaluation)
Action 3 "Presentation" (Common evaluation, establishment of a criteria catalogue, Final report)
Example for one co-operation model
Mentor Model at the Preparation course for vocational orientation "JobFit" Leopoldstadt/Austria
This model creates the basis for the organizational feasibility of the program "reflex", with which the entire course is lead in a pool system, which includes all pupils and the teacher team. This is to cause adjustability of rigid school structures and to support the young person with the acquisition of basic skills necessary for the job market.
One teacher is in each case Mentor of up to eight young people. He is the linkage centre, in which all information gathers, concerning its Mentee come together. Tasks of the Mentors:
· Administrative responsibility
· Accompaniment and support in questions of vocational orientation
· Fixing a career plan
· Co-ordination of the career plan with the Mentee
· Contact person for parents and responsible persons
· Crises intervention in the internal scholastic sector
