The two-year project will develop a concept for in-service training which enables teachers to give effective career counselling to their pupils. Such counselling is also intended to help pupils integrate into the labour market.
The target groups are teachers in lower and upper secondary schools.
The concept contains five modules:
- Research findings and case studies about how boys and girls plan their careers and how they chose their professions
- The labour market and vocational training opportunities in Europe
- The technological change and its impact on vocational qualifications
- Specific pedagogical measures for career counselling of pupils who are socially disadvantaged or with special educational needs
- Development of school programmes for career counselling
The concept will be tested in Germany and results published for dissemination purposes.
