A contribution to the political education in the frame work of "Education for Democratic Citizenship" in pre-vocational education The report in the attachment deals with possible problems of young migrants from Turkey and the former Yugoslavia. This problems have to do with the choice of vocation and the dual system. Problems for young people with the background of migration are considered with legal and cultural perspectives. Also there are barriers in language and in the difference of the choice of vocation and the real chances of these people.

23 qualitative Interviews document personal experiences of young people. Chances are shown in order to lower deficits and to establish an equal situation with young people in Austria. More and more important in a time of few jobs for apprentices there is an improved guidance. For this reason 4 in Vienna situated guidance institutions are presented. They shall give an overview of the work with young migrants. Conclusions and outlooks in these areas of problems are shown in additional. .
