a) Graduates of schools for educationally subnormal children
b) Co-operations at the place of education between school and economy (Practice during the school year, transition in apprentice or supporting jobs)
c) Supporting transition into working life
d) For graduates of schools for educationally subnormal children it is especially difficult to have a mild transition into the world of work. The first reason is combined with the "special" state of the school. On the other hand people from that schools need individual, different support to work out their cognitive, social, practical or personal competences. In the project BiZEbS young people work even in the last year of school 1 or 2 days a week in a firm, that is willing to train people with the goal, if the practice is successful to get a place for training or a work in a supporting job.
Project management: Universität Bielefeld, Fachhochschule Bielefeld, Gildenhaus Institut. 8 schools for educationally subnormal children and 1 vocational college of the region develop the concept for the transformation of the basics: "Supporting practice". It includes the establishment of an individual supporting plan for each pupil, the development of school materials for the vocational orientation as well as accompanying young people and the firms through Job-Coaching.
The project team supports also the work with the network of chambers, labour services and other institutions of the world of work. The project is supported by the ministry of education and research, from the European Social Fond and from the ministry of schools, science and research Nordrhein-Westfalen.
