OUTLINE
Artscool! is a five day arts and design project for 8 - 17 year olds. The pilot course ran from 24 - 30 July 2002. The aim was to attract a significant proportion of young people from a range of schools from which there is a low progression rate into Higher Education. 20% of the 80 participants were admitted on a reduced fee basis (their parents/carers being in receipt of means tested benefits). The project was very well evaluated by young people, and their parents/carers.
