The project focuses on the learning and teaching of German as a second language for children of migrants and people of German origin but who have spent the larger part of their life in another country and come back to Germany (the so-called Aussiedler). Particular focus is given in this project to the learning and teaching of German in classes which prepare direcltly for a job through vocational education. The key activities of the project are the following: a) development of pedagogical materials and handbooks for teachers; b) development of general documentation; c) exchanges with experts from Denmark and contacts with other similar projects; e) a seminar and/or a conference to finalise the activities of the project.
The project will especially develop materials for the learning and teaching of German which are directly related to vocational training with a direct link to the job to be carried out. Thus the project hopes to facilitate the integration of young people of migrant groups into a job or into training. The pedagogical materials and manuals will be developed and tested out in close cooperation with the Danish partners. The findings of the project will be made available to other experts in this field at the occasion of a conference and/or seminar.
