Short description:
a.) The portal was conceived for a direct use by the large public; however, it can also be expected to become a working tool for education and training professional and in particular for guidance counsellors. PLOTEUS is conceived in a life-long learning perspective: therefore, it includes information on all levels of education and training, from primary school (mainly useful for people moving in Europe with a family) to higher education and adult education.
b.) A key feature of the portal is in fact that it is supported by a network of national teams (the network of National resources Centres for Vocational Guidance, also called Euroguidance) who dispose of a specialised knowledge of the education and training field in their country. The Euroguidance centres are in charge of identifying the relevant local (regional/national) information resources and declaring them by means of a dedicated resource registration service.
c.) Preparation of information. The main purpose of PLOTEUS is to support mobility throughout Europe for education and training purposes, by helping the users to find the information they may need on learning opportunities, education and training needs .
d.) European presentation on the 5th of March 2003.
e.) Database. In detail, the portal contains links to: Higher Education institutions websites (classified by Faculties or Institutes); databases of vocational training and adult education courses; lists or databases of primary and secondary schools. Besides, it contains descriptions of the national education and training systems, information on procedures for the recognition of diplomas, on tuition fees and opportunities for grants, as well as general information about living in the country and addresses to be contacted in order to receive further information. It also contains forum and chat facilities, which may be used by students and learners to exchange tips and experiences.
.
Transformable results:.
Can the results be transformed into other countries?yes
If yes, Have they been transformed into other countries?yes
The results enclose 30 countries. The portal has a broad European dimension, thus reflecting the reality of the European learning area: it covers, beside the EU Member States, the EFTA countries and the candidate countries (except, for the moment, Turkey, which does not participate yet in the Leonardo da Vinci programme)..
If yes, in which countries have they been transformed?.
.
Documentation of the project:
Which materials/documentations/publications/instruments/etc. of this project do exist?
.
Where can these documentations be demanded (For example: Address/Telephone of the institution/contact-person/list of publications/link for downloads/ etc.)
Above the database itself there will be made widespread presentation-materials until March 2003 in an order of the EC.
