Short description:

Participating countries have provided Country overviews of their situation concerning transition from school to employment, related to:

1. Access to educational opportunities for young people with special educational needs after compulsory education.
2. Existence of a transition programme, its implementation and the professionals.
3. Employment and unemployment situation for young people with special needs; existence of a quota system.
4. Legislation regarding transition.
5. Positive and negative elements of the national situation.

Additional Information provides information on existing educational measures and new policies related to transition from school to employment.

Information included here covers:

- main publications related to employment, or transition from school to employment, published by European or International organisations.

- documents, resulting from research on the topic

- results of several meetings organised by the European Agency in the 16 countries participating in the topic of transition, involving more than 100 professionals

- the final summary report presenting the main results achieved in the project
