Short description:
Short description of the project in about 50 lines including:

a) target groups : vocational counsellors from:
a. Centres for Information and Vocational Career Planning at County Labour Offices
b. Psychological and Pedagogical Centres
c. Voluntary Work Corps


b) methods/tools/instruments/didactics:
a. Polish questionnaires:
i. the country questionnaire – concerned status quo in Polish vocational guidance
ii. the questionnaire for guidance practitioners – concerned qualification of the vocational counsellors
iii. best practices - to collect practical examples of phone counselling and phone counselling sheets
b. German questionnaires:
i. the competence questionnaire - concerned the descriptions of qualification which are needed to take part in the training seminar
ii. critical incidents technique - to collect some practical examples of counselling situations

c) main objectives: the aim of the project is the development and improvement of distance counselling by vocational counsellors providing their services in partners countries. The main goal concerns the elaboration of methodological assumptions of DC on the base of state of art comparison analysis in partner countries and relevant theories on careers and decision making.

d) main activities/events:
· to collect data on status quo in vocational guidance and qualification of the vocational counsellors
· recognition of guidance system in partners’ countries (collecting practical examples of counselling situations)
· recognition of current state of DC in partners’ countries
· elaboration of counsellor’s status quo in vocational guidance
· working out qualifications of the vocational counsellors
· finding out the best practices of phone counselling and phone counselling sheets
· elaboration of chapters in the planned handbook for vocational counsellors
· elaboration of the training programme for VC
· training course for the VC
· to promote DC project since its very beginning at the seminars and different conferences at the national and international level

the handbook for vocational counsellors on DC.

- the handbook for VC on DC

- status quo in Polish vocational guidance - all the answers to the questionnaire were translated into English
