Short description:
The project aims to create a system of vocational distance education using new technologies including the Internet. The system should respond to the rapidly changing needs of the unemployed who wish to gain new occupational qualifications adjusted to the local labour market demand, of elderly and handicapped people and dwellers of rural regions where the availability of vocational education is limited. As part of the project representatives of local administration, labour offices and educational establishments will visit a British educational centre offering training in the day system, in the extramural system and at a distance.

An opportunity to see the methods and organisation of work applied in the centre will facilitate the introduction of a regional system of distance education which meets the demand of the local community and the local labour market..
